In a thrilling conclusion to the 2024 Nigeria National League Super 8 Playoffs in Enugu, Ikorodu City FC has secured promotion to the Nigerian Premier League (NPFL) in just their second year of existence.
The Oga Boys finished second in the Southern Conference with five points, earning their spot in the top flight.
Beyond Limits FA also secured promotion to the NPFL, topping the Southern Conference with seven points. Nasarawa United and Elkanemi Warriors are the other two teams that will join the NPFL as reported by BSNSports.com.ng.
In celebration of the win, the football club took to its social media handle, rejoicing: “2022 – Saved from relegation on the final day” “2023 – Played relegation playoff” “2024 – Promoted to the top flight” “We’ve made it through!!!!”
The Ikorodu community erupted in celebration, with the club’s Executive Director of the Kayode Badmus taking to social media to share his excitement.
“It has happened! Ikorodu City has qualified for Nigeria’s biggest league, NPFL. Cheers to everyone for the support!” he wrote.
This historic achievement marks a significant milestone for Ikorodu City FC and is a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication.
