By Rt Hon Bishop Kennedy Njoku was sworn-in as Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly on Thursday, December 29th and barely 24 hours after assuming office, he tendered his resignation letter.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the State Lawmaker was elected into office after the former was expelled on accusations bothering on financial irregularities.
However, drama ensued at the State Assembly complex some hours ago when the newly elected Speaker tendered his resignation after the formalities were read to the house.
A new Speaker has immediately emerged in the person of Hon Chikwendu Kalu.
He has since been sworn in by the Clerk of the House.
