By Governor Godwin Obaseki has revealed the real reason why armoured vehicles are not among his official cars, even though he is expected to have one.
The State Executive made the disclosure when the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Edo State Chapter paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House.
Governor Obaseki stated that his zero tolerance for wasteful spending is stalling him from purchasing a bulletproof vehicle.
He said, “I am the Governor of Edo State. I am entitled to a brand new bullet-proof car, but I have not bought it because we cannot afford it and I am also avoiding wasteful spending.”
He also stated that his Government was not owing pensioners as been speculated in the media.
