Human Rights activist and legal practioner, Festus Keyamo SAN has revealed that he do not believe that former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke could have diverted huge amount of money belonging to the Federal Government without the knowledge of her principal, Dr Goodluck Jonathan.
The Lagos lawyer was reacting to reports where huge amount of funds were traced to the one time powerful minister. Investigations by the nation’s leading anti-graft agency, EFCC had disclosed huge amount of money running into billions of Naira.
Also, just recently, a Court sitting in US declared Diezani of being guilty of corrupt practise and seized some properties linked to her and some of her business partners.
In same vein, a Lagos High Court earlier in the week temporarily seized an Ikoyi mansion said to be a property of the former Minister, stating that it might have been purchased with proceeds of fraudulent acts.
Keyamo SAN took to his social media account to demand response to what he tagged “big unanswered question.”
He asked, “Is it possible one Minister allegedly stole so much without the knowledge, connivance & approval of the C-in-C (President Jonathan)?
