Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced on October 3, 2025, to 50 months (4 years and 2 months) in federal prison following his conviction on prostitution-related charges.

The sentence stems from a jury verdict in July, in which Combs was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, in violation of the Mann Act. He was acquitted of more serious charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.

In addition to prison time, Judge Arun Subramanian handed Combs a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release following his incarceration.

The judge also credited him with about 13 months already served in detention prior to sentencing.

During sentencing, Combs expressed remorse and acknowledged wrongdoing, describing his conduct as “shameful.” He asked for leniency, pointing to his philanthropic work and contributions to the music industry.

Meanwhile, the prosecution had called for a much harsher sentence of over 11 years, citing a long history of coercion and abuse of power.

Combs’ legal team immediately indicated plans to appeal, alleging that the judge improperly considered conduct for which Combs was acquitted, effectively acting as a “13th juror.”

This verdict marks a major turning point in a highly publicized trial that has exposed allegations of abuse, coercion, and exploitation.

Combs now remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn until he is transferred to a federal penitentiary.
