Despite Heavy Rainfall, Participants Defy All Odds For Eyo Festival Display

The Adimu Orisa Play 2017 is currently going on, despite the heavy rainfall, participants still trooped out in style as they displayed their various colours.

While some section in the media has it that the rain is disturbing the festival, a follower of the festival revealed to BlackBox Nigeria  that the rainfall have been part of the celebration.

The follower who is an indigene of Lagos Island stated that no matter the rainfall, the festival will still be held.

This year’s event is in memory of Late Oba Yekini Adeniyi Elegushi Kusenla II (1940-2009).

BBN gathered that while the Eyo Adimu Orisa is to lead the Eyos as they pay homage to Oba Rilwan Akiolu Osuolale I at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, the Eyo of the late Oba is to follow then other groups will follow afterwards.

Among colours seen so far are, Eyo Oniko, Eyo Ologede, Eyo Laba-Ekun, Eyo Agere, Eyo Elegushi, Eyo Bajulaiye, Eyo Onikoyi, Eyo Oniru.
