The Trump Organisation has expanded its business empire into telecommunications with the launch of T1 Mobile, a new mobile phone service unveiled on Monday.
This marks another commercial venture by president Donald Trump during his second term in office.
The service will offer a flagship package called the “47 Plan”, a direct nod to Trump’s current position as the 47th president of the United States.
According to the company, the plan will provide 5G coverage at a rate of $47.45 per month, competitively priced below major telecom giants such as Verizon, AT\&T, and T-Mobile, though higher than budget carriers like Boost Mobile and Cricket.
T1 Mobile will operate as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), meaning it will lease network capacity from the three major U.S. telecom companies rather than build its own infrastructure.
The Trump Organisation also revealed plans to begin selling a proprietary smartphone in August 2025, priced at $499.
The phone will be “proudly designed and built in the United States,” according to T1 Mobile’s official website.
The move is the latest in a string of ventures that have drawn scrutiny from ethics watchdogs over potential conflicts of interest, as Trump simultaneously leads a business empire and occupies the White House.
The Trump administration, however, maintains that all business dealings are transparent and above board.
T1 Mobile is Trump’s latest step into the tech sector. In 2021, he launched Trump Media and Technology Group, which owns the social media platform Truth Social.
Since then, he has backed the launch of World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency firm, and even introduced a personal memecoin, $TRUMP, just hours before his 2025 inauguration.
