Desmond Elliot, the lawmaker representing the Surulere I constituency in Lagos, has taken his re-election to another level.

The actor turned politician visited a Catholic church in the state to solicit votes and in the process of addressing the congregation, he spoke Igbo language.

Elliot said that his mother is an Igbo woman, which makes him half Yoruba and Igbo, and he said that it is his heritage which cannot be changed.

The controversial legislator who is running for the third time, greeted members of the church in Igbo language with the hope to entice them to vote him in the governorship and state house of assembly election is coming up on Saturday.

This is coming some days after he tendered a public apology to all for his ‘insensitive’ comments about the youths during the #ENDSARS protest in October 2020.
