Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, the first son of Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has passed away in a tragic car accident, just a day after the death of his grandmother.
A statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Hamisu Gumel, confirmed the incident, describing it as a profound loss.
“With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of yet another member of his family his dear son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.
He departed this world this afternoon (Thursday, December 26, 2024) as a result of a ghastly motor accident along the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road.” Part of the statement reads
Abdulwahab’s death follows the loss of his grandmother, Hajia Maryam Namadi, who died on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, after a brief illness at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH). She was buried on the same day.
Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso extended his condolences, saying:
“His Excellency, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, has endured a very tough period following the losses of his mother, Hajiya Maryam, and his son, Abdulwahab. This is indeed a great test from Allah (SWT), but I urge H.E. Namadi and his family to take solace in the teachings of Islam and remember that the Almighty Allah tests the faith of His servants.” He stated.
