Davido is Africa’s most-followed musician on Twitter

Award-winning Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has become the most followed African musician on popular microblogging platform, Twitter.

The DMW boss recently garnered a staggering 11.6 million followers on the bird app.

This feat means that the ‘Stand Strong’ crooner has overtaken Egyptian music legend and best-selling Middle Eastern artiste, Amr Diab, who currently boasts of 11.5m followers.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Davido would be breaking bounds on Twitter. In January, he became the first African artiste to attain 10 million followers on the app.

The superstar, who always brags about his huge fan base, enjoys massive following on the popular photo and video sharing app, Instagram. With about 24.3 million followers, the 29-year-old sits pretty as the most-followed Nigerian musician on the platform.

Davido recently got interviewed by South African comedian and TV host, Trevor Noah on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah”.
