By 2021 is moving on a good note for Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, better known as Davido.
His hit record “If” has earned him his second certified gold record in the United States of America.
This is coming about 24 hours after he was named by TIME magazine as one of the 100 emerging leaders who are shaping the future.
Released in 2017, the Tekno-produced record “If” was certified by the Recording Industry Association of America on February 12, 2021.
Davido got his first certified gold record with the song, “Fall” which was certified gold in the US on May 28, 2020.
The father of three took to Twitter to celebrate the feat, saying “My 2nd Gold record !!! Oh God I am Grateful !! The Only two Afro beats solo singles to go Gold in the USA in Afro beats history !! God is good !!! ❤️❤️ 🇺🇸 🇳🇬 MORE TO COME!”
