Afrobeat star, David Adeleke, popularly know as Davido has pledged to distribute ₦300 million to Nigerian orphanages and a charity combating youth drug abuse in celebration of his 32nd birthday.
Davido made the announcement on his X handle on November 18, stating: “Once again, my birthday this year… We are donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year is N300m. Details to follow soon.”
This donation is part of the Davido Adeleke Foundation’s efforts, established in 2022 to support vulnerable children.
This is not Davido’s first major philanthropic gesture. In November 2021, he donated ₦250 million to 292 orphanages in commemoration of his 29th birthday. Additionally, in July 2023, he donated ₦237 million to over 400 orphanages across Nigeria.
