Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of Nigeria’s Dangote Group is leaving no stoned untured in his quest to acquire 9Mobile

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote is bent on acquiring troubled telecoms firm, 9mobile and has continued to put all hands on deck to ensure that this becomes a reality. The business mogul has now passed the technical bid stage as he edges towards achieving his aim.

The billionaire businessman is however not on a solo ride for the acquisition of the fourth largest telco firm in the country. He has to contend with atleast nine others who have also passed the bid stage.

Top on the list is fellow billionaire and founder of Nigeria’s first indigenous telecommunications firm, Glo Mobile, Otunba Mike Adenuga who is also all out to purchase the company. Others include Airtel, Black Rhino Group, Smile Telecoms Holdings, Helios Towers, Centricus Capital and Africell, Teleology Holdings Limited, Ericsson among others.

The bidders who are 10 in number have now qualified to submit their financial bids for the purchase of 9mobile which was formerly known as Etisalat. According to reports, the highest bidder will be declared the winner will simply be declared winner.
