Crystal Palace has made history on Saturday, May 17, 2025, by winning its first-ever major trophy, in the club’s 164-year existence.

The South London club defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium, thanks to a 16th-minute goal from Eberechi Eze.

Despite Manchester City’s dominant performance in the past, Crystal Palace’s strategy paid off.

The Eagles’ goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, made a crucial save in the 33rd minute, denying Omar Marmoush’s penalty kick.

Although Palace had a potential second goal ruled offside in the 58th minute, they held on to their lead.

This victory marks Crystal Palace’s first major trophy, with their previous best being the Full Members’ Cup in 1990/91.

The win also secures Crystal Palace’s spot in the league phase of next season’s UEFA Europa League.

Manchester City, despite having a tough season in the Premier League, was unable to claim the trophy.

Oliver Glasner’s team, considered underdogs going into the match, proved their mettle and brought home the coveted FA Cup title.

This historic win will undoubtedly boost the team’s morale and set the stage for future successes.
