COVID19 Second Wave: Sanwo-Olu Declares Shutdown Of Churches, Mosques And Schools Indefinitely

 

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared a partial shutdown of State Government offices and major gatherings in the State.

According to the official press release signed by the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola and obtained by BlackBox Nigeria, State Civil Servants on Grade level 14 and below  to commence work from home with effect from Monday, December 21st, 2020.

The statement disclosed that the directive was in line to stem the tide of the second wave of COVID19 pandemic as the number of confirmed cases has increased in the past few days.

It also added that all schools must shut down with immediate effect till further notice as all places of worship has been directed to reduce attendance to 50% capacity and must not hold gathering for more than 2hrs. The statement added that the protocol of ‘No Mask No Entry’ must be enforced in all public places such as offices, markets, shops and other venues of gathering.
