COVID19: Sanwo-Olu Holds Virtual Meeting With Lagos Traditional Rulers On Easing Lockdown
The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu moments ago had a virtual meeting with some of the traditional rulers as the State prepares to ease the COVID19 lockdown.
It will be recalled that Lagos State, as well as Ogun State and Federal Capital Territory has been placed on lockdown since the coronavirus broke out in Nigeria. The lockdown was among the measures announced by President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR during his March 29th, 2020 nationwide broadcast. The initial lockdown which lasted for 2weeks was extended again by another two weeks which elapses today.
Speaking moments after the virtual meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu disclosed that he has gotten the assurances of the traditional rulers who will use their sphere influences to engage their communities so as to ensure compliance with measures put in place as the State eases the lockdown.
His message reads, “As we continue to put everything in place to ensure compliance ahead of #EasingTheLockdown, I had a virtual meeting with the Council of Obas in Lagos, who have promised to support and effectively engage people within their sphere of influence.”
