COVID19: Chief Imam Of Lagos Advises Muslims To Observe Eid In Their Homes (VIDEO)

 

The Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheik Suleiman Oluwatoyin Abou-Nolla has advised all Muslims resident in the State to observe the end of 2020 Ramadan Eid in their respective homes.

In an address made available to the public, Sheik Abou-Nolla disclosed that the current situation caused by the COVID19 pandemic has made it necessary to come to the decision of cancelling the normal congregation on the Eid day.

The Lagos Chief Imam’s broadcast is in line with the advise of the Sultan of Sokoto and Spiritual Leader of the Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, His Eminence Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar IV who on Wednesday announced that all Muslims should stick to the guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and maintain social distancing while celebrating this year’s end of Ramadan Eid.

With the new 339 cases recorded on Thursday, May 21st, Nigeria now has a total of 7,016 confirmed cases of COVID19. While 1,907 patients have fully recovered, 211 fatalities have been recorded so far.
