The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,624 new cases of coronavirus in 22 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The development brings the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 137,654.
The health agency made the announcement on Friday night via its official Twitter account.
NCDC also confirmed 7 fatalities, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country to 1,641.
The agency also reported the recovery and discharge of 916 patients from its isolation centres. So far, 111,639 patients have recovered across the country.

“Our discharges today include 831 community recoveries in Lagos State and 85 in Kaduna State managed in line with guidelines,” it added.
