The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has now confirmed 42 cases of the novel Coronavirus in Nigeria.
Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, Director-General of NCDC, on Tuesday told News Agency of Nigeria, while giving an update on the COVID-19 pandemic in Abuja.
Dr Chikwe stated that the two cases of COVID-19 have confirmed, one from Lagos and one from Ogun State.
He added that one of the cases was a returning traveler, while the second case was a contact of a previously confirmed case.
“As at 1:pm on March 23, there are 12 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, with two discharged, and one recorded death.
“Of the 42 confirmed cases, are in six states, 29 are in Lagos, 7 in Abuja, 3 in Ogun, 1 in Edo, 1 in Ekiti and one in Oyo.” Dr Chikwe said.
