The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 130 new cases of COVID-19 in 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This development brings the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 161,539.
The health agency made the confirmation via an update on its official website, on Friday night.
The NCDC recorded no deaths in the last 24 hours, as total fatality now stands at 2,027. So far 147,581 cases have been discharged.
According to the new data, Lagos — the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria — had the highest daily cases.
The 130 new cases are reported are as follows: Lagos (46), Ogun (19), Kwara (18), FCT (12), Kaduna (10), Ekiti (6),Abia (5), Edo(3), Sokoto(3), Osun (3), Niger (2), Oyo (2),and Akwa Ibom (1).
“Our discharges today include 242 community recoveries in Lagos State, 193 in FCT and 103 in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines,” the agency said.
