Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, has gone into isolation for the second time, following exposure to victims of COVID-19.
Ortom in July 2020 went into isolation when his wife, Mrs Eunice Ortom, son, and some of the wife’s personal aides contracted the coronavirus.
Announcing the development, the State Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu, said the governor was medically advised to go into insolation after an undisclosed Permanent Secretary and his family members tested positive for COVID-19.
According to The Punch, Abounu spoke at the Armed Forces Interdenominational service held at the ECWA Church, Makurdi, on Sunday.
“As I speak with you, the Governor has been in isolation for about 9 days and has shown no symptoms or signs of the virus. So, am happy to inform you that by tomorrow, we should be able to certify him free and he will resume work,” said the deputy governor, who is also Chairman, State action committee on COVID-19.
