COVID-19: Angry youths burn police station in Katsina for stopping their Friday prayers

Protesting youths in Kusada, Katsina state, yesterday burnt down a police station for preventing them from observing their Friday prayers in compliance with the state and federal government directive as a measure to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blackboxnigeria learnt that the protesters also set ablaze 7 vehicles, 2 motorcycles, and 1 generator.

A dusk-to-dawn curfew was imposed on the town as the police made some arrests.

Following the novel COVID-19 pandemic, Members of the House of Representatives on March 19, passed resolutions asking the executive arm too immediately prohibit all public gatherings and open religious worship in country as a way of containing the coronavirus pandemic.
