I Couldn’t Abandon My Guests In Ado Ekiti To Meet With Buhari In Abuja- Fayose Speaks On Absence At Villa

 

Outspoken Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Peter Fayose has disclosed his reason for missing out at the meeting held with President Muhammadu Buhari with the 36 State Governors on Friday. He stated that he couldn’t have abandoned his guests for the Aso Villa event which he tagged as “impromptu meeting”

It will be recalled that President Buhari had a meeting with State Governors at the Presidential Villa, but the Ekiti heavy weight was no where to be found among the visitors which was attended by other Governors of the opposition party except him

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that all was already concluded for Governor Fayose’s coronation as the Apesin of Ado Ekiti and so, an event that made him shelve the invitation to Aso Villa which invitation was sent late to the Governors. He stated that he didn’t shun the President as it was the event that prevented him from been at the meeting.

He said, “For those insinuating that I shunned the president’s meeting with governors, I didn’t. I had my installation as Apesin of Ado Ekiti slated for today.”

“Guests were already in Ekiti since yesterday for the chieftaincy title installation before I received notice of the meeting with the President.”

“There was no how I could have abandoned the people here in Ado Ekiti for the impromptu meeting with the President.”

The meeting had in attendance President Buhari, Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari among other top government officials.
