Corruption Will Cost Nigeria 37% Of GDP By 2030- Delphine Maïdou, CEO AGCS Africa

Delphine Traore Maïdou, the Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty, Africa today described corruption as a big threat that must be dealt with if businesses are to survive in the country.

She stated this when delivering her paper at a conference held in Radisson Blu Anchorrage Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to her, corruption will cost the largest country in West Africa a whooping 37% of its GDP by 2030 if it is not properly death with. She said this will amount to loss of $2,000 per person.

She said, “A significant reduction in corruption will boost current per capita income and improve the lives of many in Nigeria.”

She noted  that it was a good thing the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration had placed a priority on dealing with the threat since it came into office.
