Ekiti State First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has taken to social media to commend Chef Dammy for her ongoing attempt to break the Guinness World Record in the longest cooking category, with a target of 120 hours.
Chef Dammy surprised many when news broke about her endeavor to surpass Chef Hilda Baci’s unofficial 100-hour record in this category.
As of Monday, the young chef had already cooked non-stop for over 80 hours.
While some social media users have criticized Chef Dammy for attempting the record shortly after Chef Hilda Baci’s achievement, her fanbase and support group have been steadily growing.
Dr. Olayemi, Ekiti’s First Lady and one of Chef Dammy’s supporters, has taken to social media to praise the young chef and celebrate her determination and will to break the record.
Dr. Olayemi wrote, “The past 70 hours have been dedicated to Chef Dammy @dammypas, a determined Ekiti undergraduate who is courageously attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon. To me, it demonstrates her courage and determination to stand for something positive, utilizing her God-given talent to make a statement.
“Miss Damilola Adeparusi, you undoubtedly have our love and support as you continue to make this bold statement.
“I salute your courage, Chef Dammy, for choosing to pursue your goal. Congratulations.”
Chef Dammy is a young chef from Ekiti and an undergraduate at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti.
