CONVERSE COPIES NYSC JUNGLE BOOT AS ONE OF ITS FASHION PRODUCT
For a shoe making giant like Converse, anytime a new design is launched in the global market, acceptance becomes the order of the day. This narrative is about to change as lovers of the brand in Nigeria are not taking it lightly with the new X-A$AP NAST Collection.
The Man Behind The Bigi Cola Revolution In Nigeria
The major reason for the raised eyebrows to the new design is none other than its striking resemblance with the jungle boot issued to graduates nationwide by the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC during the compulsory one year Youth Service after graduation from a University or Polytechnic.
This resemblance can be noticed in colour and build overall build up.
X-A$AP NAST Collection is built such that it double as a jungle boot, this conclusion can be drawn as models of the brand on the Twitter page of Nike apparel store @sizeooficial, are seen posing with the shoe in a jungle setting.

This development is not going down well with Nigerians on the social media space especially past members of the NYSC Scheme as they maintain that the new design by Converse is sheer imitation of the NYSC jungle boots that is as old as the scheme established since 1973.
A major fact about the new X-A$AP NAST Collection that got Nigerians talking the more is the £100 price tag attached to it which when converted to Naira is about 45k.

The question on the lips of some of those who commented on this development is if NYSC has the authorized trademarks of the jungle boot to enable it sue the maker of the new products.
Converse primarily produces skating shoes and lifestyle brand footwear and apparel. Founded in 1908, it has been a subsidiary of Nike, Inc. since 2003.
