More faces were lifted on Wednesday, April 12th in Ikorodu Federal Constituency as iCare Foundation distributed another set of Apo Anu to the constituents, fulfilling part of its promises to always give a helping hand. The beneficiaries of this scheme is about to be doubled, BlackBox Nigeria can report.
During the press briefing, Director General of the Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola revealed that the continued distribution of food items to constituents is here to stay.
He also stated that the Foundation is putting plans in place to double the beneficiaries.
Currently, 300 constituents benefit from the monthly distribution of various food items contained in the ‘Apo Anu’, Mayor Deen disclosed that plans were in place to increase it to 700 so more beneficiaries can be added to the list.
In his brief speech before the commencement of distribution, originator of the Foundation, Hon Babajimi Adegoke Benson informed his constituents to always keep in touch with them.
The Ikorodu Federal lawmaker disclosed that though he works in Abuja, their plight in the Division is well recognised by him and he is working towards achieving their requests.
He appreciated all present at the venue, the Constituency office for their continued support and pledged to always give his best in legislative duties.
Also present at the event was his wife, Mrs Olajumoke Benson. She acknowledged the prowess of the women in the community and enjoined them to participate more in politics.
She assured that though not everyone of them should vie for an office, but others should make sure they support their counterparts who are actively involved.
The 300 bags of food items were later distributed to vulnerable constituents as promised by the scheme.
