Conspiracy Against The Truth; Ijede LCDA Must Get Better
Adeshope Saheed
The politics of Ijede LCDA has recently turned sour, resulting in a very toxic political environment. It is literally all against one. Who is this one? Apparently the chairman of Ijede LCDA in person of Comrade Fatiu Jimoh Salisu. But why? A question put out to all and requires a very honest answer.
Let’s begin by a consensus understanding that goes thus ” change is difficult” especially a change to a more developmental and productive process. There has always been a monotony of pattern in the Local Council running which is simply; sharing the large chunk of the allocations and the revenues among the political guns, while jettisoning the core fundamentals of caring for the well-being of the people and provision of social amenities. Comrade Fatiu Jimoh Salisu has constantly demonstrated his undying love for Ijede by always putting the interest of the community above his and that of his allies.
Consequently, every change must take a radical approach. Comrade Fatiu has subjected himself to a process of change for the betterment of Ijede and its environs which has aided the unprecedented achievements he recorded since he assumed office. Anyone who prefers to do the right things always has higher propensity of having more enemies than friends. How much more in the political environment where the prerogative of stepping on toes is simply doing the right thing. Comrade Fatiu Jimoh Salisu is just suffering for the love he has shown for Ijede, and also his extraordinary will to put Ijede LCDA in an enviable position among her contemporaries. Let’s itemise some of the successes he recorded since he assumed office.
1. The edifice he erected in the Council Secretariat. The building and the interlocking of the compound have obviously changed the phase of the Secretariat. This is a project he personally supervised to reduce costs to the barest minimum due to financial constraints. The amount finally expended for the project is almost nothing compared to the usual amount being spent on a project of that magnitude by any public or private organizations.
2. Resuscitation of the vocational training centre at Igbe Kapo after 10 years of abandonment. The rejuvenated vocational centre has created massive opportunities for the youths in the locality by learning one trade or the other. Many beneficiaries of this can always attest to the fact.
3. The renovation of Primary health care centres at Abule-Eko and Oke-eletu respectively.
4. The drainage system at Oke-eletu. The place was always flooded whenever it rained, that drainage hance since eased the commuters movements along that axis.
5. The constant patch up of the road opposite Mahamud Ahmadiyah college for ease of access to commuters.
6. Well equipped chambers and offices for the Councillors who have always performed their statutory functions in the environment not enabling as now.
7. The inauguration of a primary health care centre at the second palace of Igbe.
8. The repair of the long damaged pipe borne water system at Etita Ijede.
9. Successful negotiation with the state government for modern classrooms and fencing of Luwasa Community High School
10. Successful negotiation with the state government for the ongoing building of a new Jetty for water transportation at Madon Ijede.
11. Amnesty granted to the cultists terrorising the communities of Ijede and Egbin respectively. Egbin and Ijede had a frosty relationship a couple of years back which made both communities highly volatile, the amnesty initiative doused the tension and peace and tranquillity was restored in the environments. This was done in the presence of the then commissioner of police.
12. Payment of monthly incentives to the LGA and Ward excos in a bid for all-inclusive government. It is worthy of note that this isn’t done elsewhere other than Ijede LCDA. Credit to Comrade Fatiu Jimoh Salisu.
These are a few we can remember to mention from the numerous achievements of his tenure as the chairman of Ijede LCDA.
Let’s now answer the question we raised above. Is this man worthy of some accolades or not? Does he deserve our massive support in the coming contest or not? And comparatively, has anyone matched this record of success before now?
He obviously needs our support at this time and not to pull him down. Let’s search our conscience. If we truly love Ijede, it’s high time we dropped our ego, sentiments and reconcile our political differences by supporting the man in Comrade Fatiu who is head and shoulders above his contemporaries in this contest.
To capitulate my point, the recently surfaced video of confessions of lies and campaign of calumny against the person of Comrade Fatiu Salisu is a mere distraction and should be taken with a pinch of salt. He is a renowned cleric with impeccable character. Following his trajectory, he has never been found wanting of any mischievous act, as a public servant and a businessman. He is known for business acumen and high administrative capacity which are instrumental to his unprecedented achievements as the chairman of Ijede LCDA. May Allah judge the evil perpetrators.
Thanks for taking your time reading post, may the truth triumph.
