Confusion as former Kano governor, Rabiu Kwakwaso reportedly dumps APC for PDP

The rift between former allies, Kwankwaso and Ganduje might be responsible for his reported exit from APC

There has been a mild apprehension in one of Nigeria’s largest states in terms if population and landmass as former governor, Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso has reportedly dumped the ruling All Progressive Congress for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party where he was until a couple of years ago.
The reported cross-carpetting BlackBox Nigeria learnt might not be unconnected to his rift with his successor as Kano governor, Abdullahi Ganduje. Both politicians fell apart months after the latter was elected into office despite being political associates for more than a decade.
It was further learnt that leaders of the APC are now jittery with fear of the repercussion  of Kwakwaso’s alleged defection. It would be recalled that Kano state gave the APC its largest number votes in a state during the 2015  presidential election that brought in President Buhari. Now a sitting Senator, Kwakwaso was instrumental to the APC victory not just in Kano but other northern states too.

Sen. Kwankwaso

Kwankwaso’s personal assistant, Nafiu Umar Dankura as however refuted claims that the former governor has moved to the PDP.
“This is not true as the Distinguished Senator is a strong pillar of APC and he is still an APC card holder. The senator has not at anytime thought of decamping to PDP,” he said.
