Concerned’ APC Members Seek Party Leaders’ Intervention
The Concerned Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isolo Local Council Development Area has called on the party leaders at the state to wade into the crisis rocking the party in Isolo.
According to them, the botched primary election for local government has further polarized the party.
Speaking with reporters after a peaceful protest yesterday at Isolo, Secretary of the group, Ossai Francis called for the implementation of the Lagos State APC Electoral Appeal Committee’s report.
“This briefing would not have been necessary if the leaders had agreed to work together in the interest of the party and heed to the cry of majority members of the party by ensuring the composition and nomination of party candidates for the forth coming local government election in a manner that will be all-inclusive and partaking.
But what we have today is unacceptable, one-sided and unpopular. It is on this premise that we call for equity and justice for all concerned stakeholders,” he said.
According to him, one-sided nomination of party candidates for the fort coming council election or supposed call winner takes all, cannot guarantee us success in this constituency going forward into the 2023 general election.
“Recalled that in 2015 general elections, we lost our constituency to the opposition party as a result of our division but with all hands on deck, we were able to win in the 2019 general election.
We, therefore, call on our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Lagos State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Alhaji Tunde Balogun to intervene and prevail on the feuding parties to allow peace reign and also put up a composition of inclusive local government administration,” he said.
