There has been growing concern mounting over the whereabouts and well-being of Nigerian Juju legend, King Sunny Ade (KSA), following disturbing claims made by one of his daughters, Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye.
According to Olaleye Olawale, an Editor with ThisDay Newspaper, concerns about KSA whereabout arose when he was contacted to help engaging the Juju Maestro for a birthday celebration of a prominent Nigerian from Osun State.
However, efforts to reach KSA reportedly proved futile, sparking worries among friends and associates about his accessibility.
The situation took a dramatic turn when Damilola, one of KSA’s children, alleged via social media that her father had been held “incommunicado” by his manager and half-brother, identified as Dayo, alongside other close relatives.
She claimed they had taken control of the iconic musician’s affairs under the guise of managing him, without access to his biological children.
In a series of emotional posts on Instagram (@adeniyidamilola), Damilola accused the handlers of exploiting King Sunny Ade by booking performances without his full consent and subsequently tarnishing his reputation when he failed to appear.
According to her, during their last conversation, KSA sounded distressed before the call was abruptly cut off, and since then, all attempts to reach him had failed.
Damilola has since launched an online campaign, calling on the Nigerian police and the general public to intervene in securing her father’s safety.
She shared images and names of those she believes are responsible, alleging a pattern of neglect and exploitation.
While these claims remain unverified, observers have called for a balanced approach.
Many urge those managing King Sunny Ade to publicly present him to reassure fans and the public of his well-being.
Furthermore, they stress the need for an independent investigation to ascertain the truth behind the disturbing allegations.
As the situation unfolds, fans, family members, and the broader Nigerian public continue to await an official statement or appearance from King Sunny Ade himself.
