Comrade Moliki Abiodun Yusuf, popularly known as Jankalawi, has formally announced his intention to contest for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat representing Ibeju-Lekki Constituency II in the 2027 elections.
The youth advocate and community organiser made the declaration in a statement issued by his media office on Thursday, saying his decision was motivated by a commitment to “transformative, people-centred leadership” for one of the state’s fastest-growing regions.
Jankalawi, known for his activism and social justice campaigns, said Ibeju-Lekki is at a pivotal moment as rapid infrastructural and economic development continues to reshape the constituency.
“Our people deserve a representative who understands their needs, protects their interests, and ensures that development is felt in every community,” he said.
“I am stepping forward to offer sincere, transparent, and accountable leadership.”
He outlined a legislative agenda that focuses on community-driven development, improved infrastructure, expanded youth empowerment programmes, strengthened educational opportunities, better healthcare access, and fair compensation for communities affected by industrial expansion.
Supporters across the constituency have welcomed his declaration, describing him as a credible advocate for equitable development and inclusion.
Calling for collective participation, Jankalawi urged political leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups and residents to join his push for a more prosperous constituency.
“This campaign is not about one person; it is about all of us,” he said. “Together, we can create a constituency where opportunities are accessible, voices are heard, and leadership truly serves the people.”
The statement was signed by his media office under the banner “JK-is OK 2027.”
