Nigeria’s best state-owned polytechnic, the Lagos State Polytechnic has announced an increase in its tuition fee for the 2021/2022 academic session, BlackBox Nigeria reports.
The news of the increment in the fees was contained in a circular signed by the institution’s Bursar, Mr Maumo Jinadu and the Rector, Dr. Oluremi Nurudeen Olaleye.
The document which was dated 28th January, 2023 recorded a significant percentage of increase on both Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) school fees.
Information gathered by our correspondent who is an alumnus of the institution revealed that the tuition fee for the 2019/2020 session now stands at N20,950, N17,500, N28,000 and N27,500 for ND 1, ND 2, HND 1 and HND 2 students respectively.
The development has since generated mixed reactions from students of the 44-year-old polytechnic, as a number of them bemoan the hardship the unexpected increase in tuition fee will cause them.
