The people of Bayelsa State trembled on Saturday as thugs threw dynamite explosives at the residence of two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in Yenagoa and Brass local government.
Blackbox Nigeria gathered that the thugs, who are suspected to be working for one of the aspirants outside the Governor Seriake Dickson’s restoration caucus of the PDP threw the explosives necessary to create panic ahead of the party’s primary scheduled for Tuesday, September 3.
The attack on the PDP valiant, Obuku Oforji, representing Constituency 1 in the state House of Assembly, and Executive Chairman of Brass, Victor Isaiah was reported to the Commissioner of Police and the State Director of the Department of State Service (DSS) in Yenagoa.
The attack, which is believed by the Seriake Dickson’s restoration caucus to be a byproduct of the internal wrangling in the party between the restoration caucus and some non-caucus especially after the ward and national congresses to elect delegates for the governorship primary of the party.
While the Dickson’s caucus boasted of sweeping the congresses, some aspirants protested the outcome of the delegates’ elections.
Security operatives were said to have commenced investigations necessary to identify the persons who carried out the attack.
Blackbox Nigeria also gathered that security agents were said to be worried over some intelligence that few aspirants were planning to violently disrupt the forthcoming primaries.
