The Lagos State Chapter of the Yoruba Youth Council has distanced itself from a supposed declaration made in Lagos by an unknown body, stating that the nation’s unity remains it’s commitment.
In a statement signed by the State Coordinator, Comrade Lekan Obaa on Sunday and made available to BlackBox Nigeria, the Council demanded that a groups should sheath their swords as they agitate for Nigeria’s separation.
It also called on other members of States in the South West to embrace themselves and all other visitors residing in their region.

The attention of the Yoruba Youth Council, Lagos State chapter has been drawn to a baseless declaration by an acclaimed faceless Youths of Oduduwa Republic.
It is a rude shock and treacherous statement capable of destroying our peaceful co-existence as a nation and the Yoruba Youth Council, Lagos State chapter uses this medium to distance the reputable body from such declaration acclaimed held in Lagos State.
It is crucial we inform the public that this agitation from selfish quarters require our right senses to know the course isn’t for the wellness of the people but to achieve baseless and selfish intentions designed by aggrieved politicians. It will be recalled that a warning note was sent recently to the Nigeria Army to sheath their plan for a blood-bath military coup; cautioned by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; more reason why those helping this propaganda parasites must thread with caution.
We must reinstate that the Igbo clan remain our brothers and their peaceful stay in Lagos State and SouthWest States is assured and guaranteed.
Although we frown at the coalition of Arewa Youths declaration giving the Igbos October 1st Ultimatum to leave their region but it is a necessity to pre-caution war than to fuel it further. Youth Stakeholders are already meeting and later this year before October 1st, we hope to have the Coalition of Youth Organizations dialogue.
Let’s continue to uphold one Nigeria till our defining reach its peak.
Odua a gbe wa O
Signed: Comrade Lekan OBAA
Cordinator, YYC Lagos State Chapter
