In a stunning upset at MetLife Stadium, Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 3–0 in Sunday’s Club World Cup final, securing the title in emphatic fashion.

All three goals came in the first half, powered by a sensational display from Cole Palmer, who became the first Englishman to score twice in a Club World Cup final.

He found the net in the 22nd and 30th minutes, curling shots into the bottom-left corner. Palmer then turned provider, setting up João Pedro, who finished with precision in the 43rd minute.

Despite PSG dominating possession throughout controlling 66% of the ball they failed to penetrate Chelsea’s defence.

Robert Sánchez, filling in goal, made several crucial saves to maintain a clean sheet.

PSG’s hopes suffered further blows when João Neves was shown a red card late in the game for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair.

Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca likened the tactical match to top-level football, praising his team’s disciplined and effective approach.

The crushing victory caps off a remarkable turnaround for Chelsea under owner Todd Boehly, who invested heavily in the squad.

The win not only secures the prestigious trophy but also delivers a prize of up to $120 million .

The match drew high-profile attention, with Donald Trump among the distinguished spectators, while entertainment highlights included halftime performances by Coldplay and J Balvin.

This landmark victory sees Chelsea crowned the first champions of the expanded 32-team Club World Cup.
