Award Winning Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s latest novel, “Dream Count”, has been longlisted for the prestigious 2025 Women’s Prize for Fiction. This announcement marks a significant milestone in Adichie’s illustrious career, as she vies for the £30,000 prize alongside 15 other talented authors.

The Women’s Prize for Fiction, now in its 30th year, is one of the most esteemed literary awards globally. The longlist, unveiled today, features a diverse range of titles that showcase exceptional writing and compelling storytelling.

Adichie’s “Dream Count” explores the interconnected lives of four women navigating love, friendship, trauma, and societal pressures. This highly anticipated novel has already generated significant buzz in literary circles.

Other notable authors on the longlist include Miranda July, Elizabeth Strout, Karen Jennings, and Laila Lalami. The judging panel, chaired by writer Kit de Waal, will announce the shortlist of six books on April 2, with the winner being revealed on June 12.

Adichie, a previous winner of the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2007 for “Half of a Yellow Sun”, is no stranger to literary accolades. Her work continues to captivate audiences worldwide, and this latest recognition is a testament to her enduring impact on the literary world.
