Chief Justice of Nigeria to Inaugurate 12 New FCT Judges, Includes Daughter-in-law Among Appointees

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, will officiate the swearing-in ceremony for twelve newly appointed judges of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Wednesday, July 10.

According to a statement from Dr. Festus Akande, Director of Press and Information at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the event will take place at 10 am in the main courtroom of the Supreme Court.

Among the newly appointed judges is Ariwoola Oluwakemi Victoria from Oyo State, who happens to be related to the CJN as his daughter-in-law.

Additionally, Akande mentioned Lesley Nkesi Belema Wike from Rivers State as one of the appointees. However, it was not confirmed if there is any relation between her and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Other appointees include Buetnaan Mandy Bassi from Plateau State, Ademuyiwa Olakunle Oyeyipo from Kwara State, Bamodu Odunayo Olutomi from Lagos State, and Iheabunike Anumaenwe Godwin from Imo State.

Also on the list are Odo Celestine Obinna from Enugu State, Hauwa Lawal Gummi from Zamfara State, Sarah Benjamin Inesu Avoh from Bayelsa State, and Maryam lye Yusuf from Kogi State. Completing the list are Ibrahim Tanko Munirat from Bauchi State and Abdulrahman Usman from Taraba State.
