Chelsea have agreed a deal with Leicester for defender Wesley Fofana, in a deal that will see the Blues pay £75million plus add-ons for the 21-year-old youngster from Leicester City.
The defender has been a top target for Thomas Tuchel’s side this summer who have been desperate to bolster their back line, after the departure of Antonio Rudiger.
A deal that would see the Frenchman through to 2028 at Stamford Bridge, has now been agreed for the player to make the move to west London, from the 2016 Premier League champions’ side, Leicester City.
Fofana moved to the Premier League from French club Saint Etienne back in the summer of 2020 and has established himself as one of the most exciting young players in the country.
Despite suffering a broken leg last season, the French star has made 52 appearances for the Foxes during his two years at the King Power Stadium, as well as winning five caps for France under-21s.
Having missed Leicester’s 2-1 defeat to Southampton last weekend, Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Fofana was set to miss the club’s clash with Chelsea this weekend, saying that the defender was not in the right head space for the contest.
It is noteworthy that the excellent defender will become the Premier League’s most expensive young center back, according to the agreement.
