Club World Cup Champion Chelsea Football Club has confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as the club’s new head coach, signing the 41‑year‑old on a long‑term deal that runs until 2032.

Rosenior replaces Enzo Maresca, who left the Stamford Bridge post on January 1, 2026, after just over 18 months in charge amid tensions with the club’s hierarchy.

Rosenior arrives from French Ligue 1 outfit RC Strasbourg, where he led the team to European qualification, their first in nearly two decades and built a reputation as a promising young manager at the top level.

His appointment marks the start of a new chapter for Chelsea as they seek stability and consistent success following a period of rapid managerial changes under the club’s current ownership.

In a statement, Rosenior said he was honoured to take charge of one of English football’s most historic clubs and pledged to bring energy, unity and a winning mentality to the squad. The English coach also expressed excitement at working with the team and delivering results that fans can be proud of.

The move comes as Chelsea look to climb the Premier League table and strengthen their bids in domestic and European competitions.

Rosenior’s first match in charge is expected to come in the FA Cup third‑round tie, offering an early test of his leadership at Stamford Bridge.
