The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has officially released the nomination fees for aspirants contesting in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for July 12, 2025.
According to the party’s announcement, aspirants seeking the chairmanship position will pay a nomination fee of N5 million, while those aiming for councillorship positions are required to pay N1 million.
In addition, all aspirants across both categories must pay an administrative fee of N500,000.
To encourage broader participation, particularly among women, youth, and persons living with disabilities, the party has introduced a series of concessions.
Female and youth aspirants are entitled to a 50 percent reduction in nomination fees, bringing the fee to N2.5 million for chairmanship and N500,000 for councillorship while the administrative charge remains unchanged.
Aspirants with disabilities are exempted from paying the nomination fee but will pay a reduced administrative charge of N250,000 for chairmanship and N50,000 for councillorship.
The APC emphasized that all interested candidates must present stamped payment receipts before collecting nomination forms.
In addition, chairmanship aspirants must have their forms endorsed by five registered party members who are also voters in the relevant local government area.
Councillorship aspirants are required to secure endorsements from 20 registered voters within their wards.
To be eligible, aspirants must be Nigerian citizens, possess at least a secondary school certificate, and be active members of the party.
The age requirement is 30 years for chairmanship aspirants and 25 years for councillorship candidates.
The elections will be conducted across all 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State.
