CDD Partners With PremiumTimes For Effective Observation Of Anambra Gubernatorial Election

The Centre for Democracy and Development has entered into partnership with Premium Times Nigeria for effective monitoring and observation of political events that will lead up to the November 18th Governorship election in Anambra State.

In a communique signed by Mrs Idayat Hassan; Director of CDD and Mr Dapo Olorunoyomi, Publisher of PT, and made available to BlackBox Nigeria, 25 indigenous journalists have been picked and trained for the effective covering of all the electoral process: pre-election, Election Day and post election periods in the State.

BBN360 gathered that the 25 journalists who were trained in Awka, the State capital were campus based practitioners who were drawn from campus media outlets in the State. They were trained on techniques and methodology of observing electoral happenings, trends and dynamics ahead of the election.

BBN360 also gathered that the training which ended on September 12th has gotten some positive feedbacks from participants as they highlighted what they have benefited from the training. While Ms Amaka said the training was an eye opener which awakened her dead spirit of electioneering, Mr Okafor affirmed that he got more enlightened and motivated by the training. All the participants were indeed grateful as they appreciated CDD and Premium Times for the “warm treat” and “productive training.”

Mrs Hassan of CDD disclosed to BBN360 that all the participants have been deployed to their respective stations and said all stakeholders of the forthcoming election in Anambra State to be on the look out for several products which would emanate from the partnership which is an innovative way of observing elections.
