By Mr Jimi Agbaje, the The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos State, yesterday, called the attention of the general public to the detention by the police command of the state of five officials of the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency(LASSAA) caught for destroying his campaign boards.
Agbaje reported this after residents of the Pedro area of the state reportedly caught five LASSAA officials destroying his campaign billboards and loading them onto a truck on the Third Mainland Bridge.
The LASSAA officials were allegedly taken to the Pedro Police Station in Shomolu, Lagos, where they gave their names as Julius Opebenyo, Tunde Akanbi, George Benson, Yinka Adejuwon and Saba Edgal.
In a statemnt issued by Mr Felix Oboagwina the Director o Media and Publicity, Jimi Agbaje Campaign Organization,the apprehended men were said to be imposters to have donned themselves in LASSAA uniform, with the agency’s identity card on the.
In reaction to the incident, Agbaje said, “We have lost hundreds of boards to the activities of supposedly LASSAA officials. We believe this is a conspiracy by those in government against us. It is just not acceptable.” he lamented.
