Candidate For NANS President, Momodu Advocates For Better Nigeria As Country Celebrates Democracy Day

The former Secretary of NANS and presumably the most competent candidate to lead the Nigerian students to the promised Land, Comrade Momodu, Advocates for Better Nigeria as the country celebrates June 12 ( Nigeria’s Democracy Day ).

Momodu who is a current masters student in the prestigious University of Lagos and one of the front runner for the presidential seat has urged Nigerian students to continue to push and advocate for a better Nigeria for all irrespective of the political and religious differences.

Here is the full statement;

Greatest Nigerian students, I bring you all solidarity greetings in the name of our heroes past, living legends and ever dogged Nigerian students. it is has become very pertinent to bring you this solidarity greetings as we celebrate Democracy day.

Prior the Nation’s return to Democracy, the Nigerian students under visionary leaders played active roles in the fight against military rule. Like Aristotle famously declared that “in a democracy the poor will have more power than the rich, because there are more of them, the will of the majority is supreme”

Fellow Nigerian students, no doubt this is not the Democracy that our founding fathers and heroes fought for, but we celebrate the transition even though some schools of thought felt military rule was more beneficial to Democracy (A debate for another day). As Nigerian students and critical stakeholders in the Project Nigeria, we must continue to push and advocate for a better Nigeria for all irrespective of our political and religious differences. I wish you all a Happy Democracy Day!
On June 12 Mandate we stand! May God bless the dead! Adieu MKO Abiola and other martyr who paid the supreme price for the democracy that we celebrate today.

Long Live NANS!
Long Live Nigeria!!
