Canada Returnee Arrested for Assaulting Lagos Sanitation Officer After Crossing Ojota Expressway

A 52-year-old Canada Returnee, Morufudeen Idowu, has been arrested by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) for allegedly assaulting one of their officers.

According to the Commissioner for Environment and water resources,Mr Tokunbo Wahab, the incident occurred on Friday at Ojota, where Idowu, a self-acclaimed Canadian returnee, was seen crossing the expressway.

When KAI officials attempted to apprehend him, Idowu resisted arrest and allegedly assaulted one of the officers, inflicting bodily injuries.

The KAI officials managed to overpower Idowu and took him into custody.

He is currently being held at the KAI office in Oshodi, where he will face prosecution for his actions.

The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to enforcing environmental laws and protecting the safety of its officials.

Idowu’s arrest serves as a warning to individuals who attempt to obstruct or assault law enforcement officers in the course of their duties.
