Afrobeat superstar Burna Boy has added a Grammys to his growing list of accomplishments, as his “Twice As Tall” album wins the Best Global Music Album at the 63rd Grammy Award ceremony.
It marks the first Grammy award for the self-styled “African Giant,” after he beat four others — Antibalas (FU Chronicles), Bebel Gilberto (Agora), Anoushka Shankar (Love Letters), and Tinariwen (Amadjar) to clinch the award.
This was Burna Boy’s second nomination. At his last outing at the Grammys, the singer was nominated in the same category, then known as Best World Music Album, but lost to music legend Angelique Kidjo at the awards ceremony in 2020.
