By Joachim Chinakwe aka Joe, the trader who has been tangled in a mere dog naming scenario have expressed his feeling over the prolonged case. He said the notion behind the ‘Buhari’ given to his dog was because the name is worthy to him for use.
He spoke to journalist after meeting his bail condition set by Ota Magistrate Court, Ogun State. The trader said he was amazed with the reaction that the name he gave his dog got from the northerners in his neighborhood.
According to him, he said before now, he has four dogs namely Buhari, Obama, Joe (his name) and Mandela (which is late now, leaving him with three dogs).
He also expressed that President Muhammadu Buhari was Nigeria’s President and not only for the Northerners as been shown presently in the country. He also said Nigeria is one and no restrictions should be placed on how and who to celebrate the name ‘Buhari’.
The Chief Magistrate, B. J. Ojikutu of Ota Magistrate Court 2 had at last week admitted Joe to bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum, adding that the sureties must be regular taxpayers in the state and remanding him in Ibara prison till he fulfills his bail conditions. The case has been adjourned till September 19, 2016.
