By President Muhammadu Buhari bestowed the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR), the highest honour in Nigeria, upon President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The investiture ceremony took place at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja on Thursday morning. Vice President-elect Kashim Settima was also honored with the title of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON.
Tinubu will be officially sworn in as Nigeria’s next President on May 29th, succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari.
This will mark Nigeria’s 7th consecutive democratic transition, underscoring the nation’s commitment to democratic governance.
