Buhari confers national honours on Davido, Kunle Afolayan, Terry Waya

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the award of national honours to several citizens and friends of Nigeria.

The Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs announced the awards in various categories.

David Adeleke, also known as Davido, was awarded the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

Ace filmmaker Kunle Afolayan was also awarded the OON.

Charles Okpaleke, a filmmaker, received the OON as well.

Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian footballer whose goal secured Napoli its first Serie A title in 33 years, was awarded the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).

Socialite Terry Waya also received the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).

All the award recipients have been requested to submit a soft copy of their citation or resume to the ministry before May 31.

They are also expected to be physically present to receive their medals and certificates during the reception on June 1, 2023.
