Buhari: Commander-in-Chief of Praying Forces
May I ask what could be more preposterous than when an executive president and a supposed Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces has to resort to prayer in the face of attacks on the citizenry?
The president has advised the citizens to pray about the state of insecurity in the country. One would however wonder why the president and his political cohorts had to deploy two aircrafts and five thousand policemen to the venue of their congress when they could have committed their lives in God’s hands through prayer.
I state unequivocally that for anyone to feign ignorance of this old man’s (Buhari) incompetence and insensitivity is to be unpatriotic. No serious country prays in the face of different phases of insecurity which is resulting in the death of human beings at the rate that is not heard of about animals in developed countries.
Wait a minute! Is this not the same Nigeria I grew to know to have one of the best army of soldiers on land across the globe? Could this be the same country that sent out soldiers to neighbouring and far countries on peace keeping mission? How, in the name of God, did we get here?
I had a strong belief in Bulgaria that I would have voted him still, even if my father were the other candidate in 2015. I, however, do not love him at the expense of my beloved nation. Buhari has not only demonstrated incompetence; he has verbalised it.
If we, out of self-interest, greed and the fear of shifting ground, keep Bulgaria in power, posterity awaits us all.
NB: I do not have a candidate in mind. But Baba is evidently too weak to steer the ship of this nation.
Save Nigeria; fear for posterity. Let’s use our weapon well come 2019: it is our only safe.
